Kier Joins Western Power Distribution’s Framework To Deliver Electrical Works Across The Midlands

Kier has joined with Western Power Distribution’s framework to deliver planned and reactive works across the East and West Midlands.

 

After many successes in areas across the Midlands, Kier will deliver excavation, cable laying and reinstatement works, including a 24/7 reactive service that is said to be valued at roughly £30m.

 

Commenting on the framework, Simon Havill from Western Power Distribution said: “We have built a strong reputation for delivering a reliable and safe electricity supply to homes and businesses, while offering the highest quality customer service.

 

“We look forward to working with Kier in the Midlands to help us maintain our high performance standards.”

 

Starting in September 2018 the framework agreement is set for an initial three years, which could be increased to a further two.

 

Kier will play a essential role in supporting Western Power Distribution’s 11kV to 33kV electrical works network that serves five million homes across the Midlands, spanning Gloucester to Coventry and Kidderminster.

Since 2004, Kier has worked with Western Power Distribution to provide similar electrical works throughout the South-West of England.

 

Throughout the Midlands and over the past year, Kier has laid over 450km of cable, responded to 4959 ‘fault’ call outs and delivered an estimated 7,000 planned jobs.
