Everton Football Club has revealed it is ready to submit a planning application for a new football stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool The new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock will form part of Peel L&Ps Liverpool Waters £5.5bn development. More than 43,000 people took part in Everton’s second stage consultation, bringing the total number of responses to 63,000. The contract to finish the Midland Metropolitan Hospital has finally been signed by Balfour Beatty, following uncertainty when the original contractor, Carillion, went bust Construction work will commence this month with the Midland Metropolitan Hospital expected to be open to the public in 2022. The Midland Metropolitan Hospital project has faced several delays since the collapse of Carillion. Sever funding issues also furthered these delays but the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust has since settled this. CLC endorses zero retentions in construction by 2023

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) has endorsed Build UK’s Roadmap to Zero Retentions, which proposes moving towards the objective of zero retentions in construction by 2023 This CLC’s endorsement of the Build UK Roadmap to Zero Retentions is a means of improving the transparency and fairness of payment practices in relation to retentions in construction. 1,000 tonne Luton DART bridge opens

The bridge, which will carry each DART shuttle over the A1081, has opened 10 hours early, following the installation of an 80-metre long, 1,000-tonne curved bridge The VolkerFitzpatrick–Kier joint-venture constructed the bridge offsite, adjacent to the Percival Way roundabout, over an eight-month period. It was then transported half a mile to the site, using self-propelled modular transporters. The structure was raised up using jacks, positioned and carefully lowered into place.
